Purple Turtle Fiji offer a range of excursions from Matamanoa Island Resort. All excursions are guided by PADI professionals who have extensive knowledge of the excursion sites and surrounding area
Prices are in Fiji dollars and include all government taxes
Village Visit
No trip to Fiji would be complete without visiting a local village. Tavua, home to most of the Matamanoa staff, is a short boat ride away. Here you will see how they live, how they have made pottery for the last 100 years and have a chance to shop at their shell market, contributing directly to their economy

Tavua Church Trip
Listen to the beautiful singing and harmonizing as well as experience an extremely important ceremony to the Fijians. You won’t find this experience anywhere else in the world

Monuriki Island “Cast Away” Tour
Monuriki is the island made famous by Tom Hanks and ‘Wilson’ in the film Cast Away. Your guide will take you to some of the set locations and tell you about the film. On the tour you’ll also learn about local flora and fauna, including the Fiji Crested Iguana, which is only found on 2 other islands in the world. There is also a chance to enjoy some pristine snorkeling or just relax on the beach

Sacred Islands (Aug-Feb)
The sacred islands are situated eleven miles north of Matamanoa and are thought to be the site where the Fijian ancestors first set foot in Fiji almost two thousand years ago. Make an offering to the local Gods, hear stories of ghosts and giant warriors. Walk through the center of the island and see where the Fijian ancestors lived and cooked

Cloud 9 Floating Platform
Cloud 9 is Fiji’s only two level floating platform situated literally in the middle of the ocean surrounded by nothing but turquoise blue water, coral reef and the horizon… a floating paradise!
This unique venue has an internationally stocked bar, Italian wood-fired pizzeria, surround sound system throughout, sun decks, hanging chairs and day beds
